DAVIS, Richard Hasse.1945 2015 Members of SA Parks wish to express their great sadness at the passing of Richard Davis OAM. Richard's service to the caravan park and tourism industry will never be matched, - his passing is a huge loss to the industry and to those who shared his vision. Richard was much loved and respected President of SA Parks for 40 years. He was always available to share his wisdom and offered his time freely to all. His good nature and positive outlook were inspiring; he was a generous colleague and a wonderful friend. SA Parks committee, staff and members express our deepest sympathy to Margaret at this sad time.

Richard Hasse Davis OAM </wiki/Medal_of_the_Order_of_Australia> [1] is a South Australian </wiki/South_Australia> businessman </wiki/Businessman>. He was born in 1945.
His business activities encompass several caravan parks (situated at Adelaide </wiki/Adelaide>, Kadina </wiki/Kadina>, Moonta Bay </wiki/Moonta_Bay> and Port Hughes </wiki/Port_Hughes>), a motel and restaurant and a significant regional brewery (Copper Coast Wines </wiki/Copper_Coast_Wines>).
He is the President of the Caravan Parks Association of South Australia. Also, he is a member of the Board of the Caravan, RV & Accommodation Industry of Australia Ltd </w/index.php?title=Caravan,_RV_%26_Accommodation_Industry_of_Australia_Ltd&action=edit&redlink=1> (the peak Australian National Tourism Body representing over 4000 caravan industry businesses ranging from caravan parks, manufacturers and retailers of caravan industry products, suppliers of goods and services, and service providers to that industry).
His community service includes serving as a councillor of the Copper Coast </wiki/Copper_Coast> Council </wiki/District_Council_of_the_Copper_Coast>.
He was awarded with the Medal of the Order of Australia in 1999 for his services to South Australian tourism, particularly through the Caravan Parks Association of South Australia.
Davis is a founding member of the Quarter Club </w/index.php?title=Quarter_Club&action=edit&redlink=1>, a group which raises money to support Olympic, Paralympic and Commonwealth Games athletes.
